What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address (via Auth0 authentication), and any profile details you choose to provide such as skills, availability, and LinkedIn URL.

If you're a startup, we collect your company name, founder details, and opportunity descriptions. For connected workspaces, we may access GitHub activity data to display contribution history. We also collect standard usage data such as page views, click behavior, session interactions, scroll depth, and feature interactions to understand how the site is used and improve the platform.

How we use it

Your data powers the core of what we do: matching contributors with startups that need their skills. We use your profile information to surface relevant opportunities, send outreach and follow-up emails, and display contribution data within matched workspaces. We also use aggregated usage and behavior data to improve navigation, messaging, conversion flows, and product decisions.

What we share

Sharing profile information between matched startups and contributors is the whole point of moonlighters.ai. When you're matched with a startup (or vice versa), the other party will see the relevant parts of your profile.

We do not sell your data. Ever.

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform: Auth0 (authentication), Airtable (data storage), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), GitHub (workspace integrations), and Microsoft Clarity (site analytics). Each processes data only as needed to provide their service.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and all associated match data.

Cookies and analytics

We use session cookies from Auth0 to keep you logged in. We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand page traffic, clicks, engagement patterns, and areas of friction on the site. Clarity may set cookies or use similar technologies to support analytics features such as session recordings, heatmaps, and interaction analysis.

We configure our implementation to avoid sending direct identifiers like names, email addresses, or Auth0 IDs through analytics tags.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Most of this you can do directly from your dashboard. For anything else, reach out to support@moonlighters.ai and we'll take care of it.
